Masai Mara Safari - Validity: All Year

Located in southwest Kenya, the Masai Mara National Reserve is a vast wilderness abundant with wildlife. Known for its exceptional population of lions, leopards, cheetahs, and elephants, it is also part of the Serengeti Plains, offering a rich and diverse ecosystem. The reserve covers an area of approximately 1,510 square kilometers (583 square miles) and is part of the Mara-Serengeti ecosystem, which spans Tanzania and Kenya.

Wildlife and Migration The Masai Mara is perhaps best known for the Great Migration, an annual event where millions of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle traverse the landscape from the Serengeti in Tanzania in search of fresh pasture. This spectacle, occurring between July and October, is one of the most impressive natural events worldwide and draws visitors from across the globe. The reserve's plentiful prey also supports a healthy population of predators, making it an excellent location for wildlife viewing year-round.

Cultural Experiences Beyond wildlife, the Masai Mara offers cultural interactions with the Maasai people, an indigenous ethnic group known for their distinctive customs, dress, and residence within the park's boundaries. Visitors can explore Maasai villages, known as Manyattas, to learn about their traditional way of life and their coexistence with the surrounding wildlife.
